Heyy there, fellow bookworms!
Welcome to Bookworm Blogs! Grab a snack and a drink, get comfy — and (very important) enjoy!
Meet Richard Pinheiro-Rivera!📚✨
Welcome to the very first Curious Worm Meets Indie Author! 🐛✨ For our debut spotlight, we're diving into the magical world of Richard Pinheiro-Rivera, the brilliant mind behind The Blessed Three Novels. With fast-paced fantasy adventures, chapters that will make you laugh and cry at the same time, heart-warming characters and insane plot twists that you'll never see coming, Richie gives fantasy genre a whole new meaning. Let's get to know him a little better, with my curios twist.
Q1: What inspired you to write your book/books?
Richie: I grew up watching TV shows like Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They were my absolute obsession, but there wasn't really any gay representation in them. So I wanted to create a world that had a gay male protagonist at the forefront —proving that gay heroes are just as compelling as any other!
My note: And I think we can all agree — the LGBTQ+ community deserves so much more representation in stories and etc.! 🌈
Q2: Have you always wanted to be an author and what got you into writing?
Richie: I used to write short stories a lot as a kid but I never imagined I would be publishing an entire series. Growing up I was an avid reader, so I've always loved the idea of creating stories of my own!
Q3: Which five words would best describe your book/books?
Richie: Witchy, Fantasy, Romance, Gay Protagonist. 😊
Q4: How would you introduce your characters?
Richie: Kasey Blake is a sassy, funny no bullshit girlie. Kayla Bennett is a sweet, gentle, calm, kind —nurse type. Richie Blackwell is a blend of both of their personalities making him the centre of their group dynamic. Colton Ray is smart, handsome, funny —and the sweetest person. He is gentle yet strong and loves with his whole heart.
My note: I adore Colton, he is my absolute favourite!

Q5: Who is your favourite character that you have written and why?
Richie: Arya is my favourite character because she is the first character I wrote that wasn't inspired by a real person. Arya is the type of person I wish I could be. Carefree and hilarious! Always in pursuit of her own joy! I wish I could be that way!
My note: I think everyone who has read or will read the series would agree with that. Arya is a total badass — I want to be her too!

Q6: Is there a real person that inspired your character/characters?
Richie: YES! Richie, Kasey, and Kayla are all based off of me and my best friends! Also Colton is based on a real person as well that holds a place closest to my heart.
My note: I love this that's so sweet! 🥺 I absolutely loved that while connecting with the characters in the book I was also connecting with real people— it just made me love Richie more!

Q7: If your book/books was a dish, what dish would that be and why?
Richie: My book would probably be jambalya! Lots of different elements that together create an explosion of enjoyable flavour!
Q8: If your character was a pizza what toppings would it have?
Richie: Richie would be pepperoni and pineapple! Kasey would be buffalo chicken and Kayla would be extra cheese!
Q9: If your characters were an ice cream flavour, what flavour would they be?
Richie: Richie would be Mint Chocolate chip, Kasey would be chocolate and Kayla Vanilla or coffee!
Q10: If you could give one warning to your characters, what would it be?
Richie: Buckle up— its going to be a bumpy ride. lol
My note: It sure has been a bumpy ride so far!😂
Q11: What pet would your character have — one that screams “this is so them”?
Richie: Richie would definitely have a pet monkey! Or a koala bear! Kasey would have a sphinx cat and Kayla would have a golden retriever!
My note: I can totally see Richie with a pet monkey tho!!!
Q12: If you could bring one of your characters to life which one would it be? What would you guys do together?
Richie: I don't think I can appropriately answer this question! hahaha JK! I would have to say Arya because I know we would have the best time together getting into mischief haha.
Q13: If your book/books were made into a movie/tv show, who would you cast?
Richie: Richie would be Timothee Chalamet! Kasey would be Zoey Deutch and Kayla would be Florence Pugh!

Q14: What other projects can we expect in the future?
Richie: I have a few ideas for spin-offs and prequels after the series, but i would like to take a step back and try my hand at a horror trilogy featuring another marginalized and diverse character as the main protagonist!
My note: I am very exited to see what other worlds live in your head, Richie! And there are also special editions covers coming soon!
Q15: How would your characters introduce you to someone?
Richie: This is Richie, he might be closed off at first, but no one will ever be more loyal to you. This is Kasey don't be fooled by the bitchy exterior she's a marshmallow! She will love you fiercely! This is Kayla, she's the sweetest and best friend you could ever have.
Q16: If Richie, Kayla and Kasey switched powers for a day, what do you think would happen?
Richie: I think Richie would get Kasey's powers. Kayla would get Richie's, and Kasey would get Kayla's! I think that this would be the most fun outcome because those powers seem to be opposite of their personalities.
Q17: If Richie, Kayla and Kasey got a matching tattoo, what would they get?
Richie: Kasey: "No matter where" Richie: "No matter what" Kayla: "No matter when". And it would be on their pinkie's to symbolize a pinkie promise of forever friendship.
